1942 is a conversion of the classic arcade shoot-em-up from Capcom. (This is not to be confused with other similarly-named games such as 1942 Air Combat.)

Gameplay - 1942 for Ovi Store is loosely based on the classic coin-op of the same name, with traditional 2D scrolling shoot-em-up gameplay. You have to shoot everything in sight while collecting power-ups and defeating end of level bosses.
Graphics - Not exactly cutting edge, but not retro either. The graphics of this version of 1942 are much more detailed than on the original arcade machine, but not high quality enough to look impressive today.
Sound - Some nice retro-ish MIDI tunes accompany the levels and various game events such as encountering the boss. There isn't much by way of sound effects.
Multiplayer & Online - None.
Overall - The touchscreen version of 1942 is pretty awful as it's impossible to get the same kind of high speed manoeuvering that the game calls for, and the game is stuck permanently in half-screen mode. You may have more fun with the non-touch version for button phones, but even so this is still rather bland. It might have appealed to nostalgia enthusiasts if it had been identical to the original coin-up but it isn't, so it's difficult to know who it will appeal to.
