Nokia Developer Summit: Ovi Store to sell N-Gage games alongside Symbian S60, Java J2ME and Flash Lite titles too

The Nokia Developer Summit in Monaco has included a string of announcements related to Nokia's upcoming content shop Ovi Store, including the news that all N-Gage games will be sold through the store alongside S60, Java and Flash Lite games. You can see photos of Ovi Store in action below.
Ovi Store will carry all types of games including N-Gage, Symbian S60, Java J2ME and Flash Lite:

N-Gage games will be sold alongside other games, with an N-Gage logo to distinguish them from the rest:

You can search the contents of Ovi Store by keyword, and filter the results according to what you're looking for:

Ovi Store will allow payment by credit card or phone bill. Here's how the CC purchase process works:

You can rate and review Ovi Store content, or "share" it with a friend (though we're not 100% sure what they mean by sharing to be honest):

finally, when I am just about to switch to the N97, they are bringing an easy way to get games on the e51. I'm stunned ;)
But elsewise, this looks rather promising. Am really looking forward to exploring the ovi store offering. The only problem I see is that they once more limit purchasing to one particular device...

Nemoi, we'll have to wait and see what they do about transfers...
I suspect that even if they did tie apps to one handset, the price per app will fall to a much lower level than current N-Gage prices, because there will be a lot more competition between app publishers. If that happens, then the pain of re-buying apps will be much less.

I asked today in the QA on events.nokia.com whether the purchases will be for a single device only or transferable. Their answer was explicitly for one device only, and "as ovi store evolves" (meaning not from the start) there will be a switch option to transfer software to a different device.

Hmm... that's pretty much what they've been saying about N-Gage too.
Maybe this is why they didn't get the N-Gage transfer client done, because they decided to switch N-Gage sales entirely to the Ovi Store client. It might also explain why the N-Gage client has barely been updated since its launch, perhaps they intend to merge N-Gage into the Ovi Store client instead.

True that it hasn't been updated for a long time and I really hope they come up with a transferable solution soon. (Getting more and more impatient)
