N-Gage Sales Chart for 17th to 23rd of November 2008

Another sales chart, the usual suspects at the top, but something is missing... As well as sales, we've also got our usual cumulative chart and publisher chart.

And, despite its name, the "Top 5 Games" list on the official N-Gage showroom page is not the sales chart, it's actually just a selection of games that Nokia wants to promote.

FIFA09 where art thou? Did too many people conclude it wasn't worth upgrading from FIFA08?

I don't know where to post this but... but all about n-gage crew go
right away to:
blog.n-gage.com
because there are tons of new games announcements!
And please update the front page ;)

Unregistered, thanks for the tip but those are not new announcements. It's just a list of all the games that have already been announced but not yet released.
We've already got all of those games (and more) listed in our N-Gage games section:

Disturbingly, Worms World Party is not in the list in blog.n-gage.com. And another thing, as they have announced the Crash game's name to be Crash Bandicoot: Nitro Kart 3D, it's time to change it in the AAN games list.

We already did a story about Worms' disappearance a while ago. Officially it's "indefinitely postponed", one of the Arena mods actually used those words.
We don't know what has happened, but if I had to guess I'd say THQ and Nokia have had some kind of dispute over licence terms. It's a third party game that is published by THQ, so THQ have the final say over what happens to it.
It could be that the game is actually finished, but waiting for the lawyers to sort out terms. If that's the case (we don't know, that is just a guess) that would be a real shame.
Another possibility is that THQ and/or Nokia are waiting for N-Gage to get a bigger userbase before releasing the bigger name games. The number of people with the N-Gage app pre-installed on their phones should be much larger in 2009 as the pre-installed models have only just appeared. More pre-installed phones would mean more potential sales for any games released in 2009.

Anyway, the topic got shifted. It's a real shame to see World Series of Poker above One. And Tetris topping the chart. This is probably due to embedding of the these games' trials on recent phones and giving away a free copy of Tetris with N96. Why can't Nokia start embedding some of the better games, like, COTD and One?
argh
Well, I don't see a problem with Tetris being higher than WoP - it's still a good game, and popular with the public.
If people knew about the free Kevtris, it might not be so popular, but still. It is a shame to see WoP in the charts at all, though.

very good choice

The problem with Tetris is that the N-Gage version is an awful implementation of it, and practically identical to the much cheaper Java version.
The menus are really annoying, they take ages to change and they're very unclear (for example changing game mode has to be done as a timer counts down, and if you're too late it won't change... why?).
There's a totally free and legal Tetris clone for N-Gage-compatible phones here which I'd recommend to anyone who just wants the basic Tetris gameplay:

Yeah, I was a bit shocked to see which demos they'd decided to pre-install on the N96.
Thankfully there are more and better game demos embedded on the newer phones (N85, N79).

I still quite enjoyed it, but agree on the menus.
